Welfare Units

Welfare facilities sized to workforce and programme, specified to meet CDM 2015 and ready before mobilisation.

Why it matters

Welfare provision must be in place before work begins on site. CDM 2015 requires sanitary and washing facilities, drinking water, rest areas and facilities for changing and drying clothing. Late or inadequate provision can delay site start and expose the principal contractor to compliance risk. The principal contractor remains responsible for site welfare; we provide and install the facilities to meet the requirement it sets.

GeoModular assesses the site, sizes provision to headcount and programme duration, and installs, connects and commissions each unit ahead of mobilisation.

Site services

Mains-connected or fully off-grid

Welfare facilities need power, water and a route for waste. Availability of mains services is assessed at survey, and the provision is designed around what the site has. Where mains services are not available, or not yet connected, GeoModular provides a self-contained solution so the facilities are operational from day one.

Remote and off-grid sites

  • Self-contained welfare units. Towable units with integrated generator, water, waste, toilet and canteen, operational on the day of delivery.
  • Static units on temporary services. Modular units run on generator or hybrid power and tanked water and waste, switched to mains when the connections arrive.
  • Hybrid power. Battery-led systems that reduce fuel use, noise and emissions, suited to residential and environmentally sensitive locations.
  • Servicing contracts. Scheduled refuelling, water refilling, waste removal, cleaning and consumables, arranged on a weekly cycle.

All electrical installations are tested and certified to BS 7671, and waste is removed by registered carriers with full duty-of-care documentation.
